FIESA is a mega exhibition of sand sculptures held by Prosandart since 2003 in Pêra, Algarve, that in each new edition is dedicated to a different theme.
The festival is unique in the Iberian Peninsula and is considered the largest sand sculpture festival in the world, by the size of its sculptures and the area they occupy.
Every year, a group of talented sculptors, from various parts of the world and experts in the art of sand sculpting, join to give shape to thirty-five thousand tons of sand, in an area of fifteen thousand square meters.

June 13th is St. Anthony’s day, while June 24th belongs to St. John and June 29th to St. Peter - three great excuses for coming to see how we celebrate saints’ days in Portugal.
Saints’ days are full of fun and merriment. The streets are decorated with balloons and arches made out of brightly-coloured paper; people dance in the city’s small squares, and altars, dedicated to the saints, are put up as a way of asking for good fortune.
Festival Med - Loulé

Come to Loulé at the beginning of the summer and appreciate the typical sounds and flavours of several countries. For several days, the Med Festival will be bringing life and excitement to the streets of Loulé’s historic centre, benefiting from the presence in the city of many wellknown names from the universe of “world music”. Advertising itself under the slogan of “music and much more”, the festival also presents other forms of art, including handicraft exhibitions, dance performances and street theatre. To complete this display of the typical culture of various countries, the festival ground will be filled with a number of different restaurants where you can sample some of the tastes of the traditional cuisine of each of the countries taking part. Throughout this festival, Loulé, with its narrow winding streets, where it is still possible to sense the atmosphere of Moorish times, will be a real mixture of cultures that nonetheless have many features in common.

The Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship will be held on Oceânico Golf’s world class golf courses in the Algarve region of Portugal. The Amendoeira Golf Resort will serve as the headquarters for the event. With two fantastic golf courses, an incredible clubhouse and accommodation on site the event could not be more fun, organized and relaxing for our golfing families.
The competition will be for boys aged 7 to 18 years old and girls aged 8 to 18 years old. The child’s age on June 30th 2011 will determine their entry category.
The tournament will be gross stroke play. Handicap and scoring requirements are in place only to help serve as a guideline as to whether or not a child is ready to play. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age category by gender.
Shelfish Festival - Festival do Marisco - Olhão

Seafood devotees head to the fishing town of Olhão for the Festival do Marisco, for days of fresh cockles, conch, clams, oysters, conquilhas, octopus, squid and cuddle fish. Situated in the southern town in the Algarve region of Portugal, the festival celebrates the town's history as a seaport and the subsequently delightful local cuisine – for those who love finger-licking good shellfish. Expect stall after stall of hot, grilled, steamed, sautéed and buttery seafood. And plenty of non-fishy smells and sights, too. In addition to the whitewashed walls and flattops of the Moorish architecture, folk dancing and concerts will keep visitors entertained as they eat.
Olhão, Cidade do Mar e da Ria Formosa, acolhe entre os dias 10 e 15 de Agosto, um dos maiores eventos gastronómicos e musicais do sul do país.
O Festival do Marisco, que vai já na sua 26ª edição, tornou-se ponto de passagem obrigatório para milhares de turistas nacionais e estrangeiros que visitam a região algarvia nesta época do ano.
Os melhores bivalves e mariscos da Ria Formosa, confeccionados das mais variadas formas e sempre com a garantia de total qualidade e muita variedade, podem ser apreciados, tal como a doçaria típica da região, no Jardim Pescador Olhanense, todos os dias a partir das 19h30.
O recinto contará igualmente com espaços destinados à venda de artesanato local e regional, distribuídos pelo imenso jardim que alberga o festival, onde também haverá bazares para adquirir a tradicional caneca alusiva ao evento. Tudo ao som da melhor música.
O Festival do Marisco é uma iniciativa da Câmara Municipal de Olhão com a organização da Fesnima.
2012 Portugal Masters - Victoria Golf Course
